Mrs. Jeffords is in private practice in Augusta, Ga., in the Law Offices of Tanya D. Jeffords and Associates, PC, where her motto for success is Preparation and the Power of Prayer. She earned her undergraduate degree from Augusta State University and her Juris Doctorate from Mercer University, Walter F. George School of Law in 2001. She is licensed to practice law in both Georgia and South Carolina. Mrs. Jeffords believes in helping her clients and their families to find solutions to their problems within the judicial system by way of fierce and caring advocacy. Some clients have nicknamed her the “Tiger.”
Upon graduation from law school, she was a federal judicial law clerk for two years for the United States District Court for the Middle District of Georgia, the Honorable Judge W. Louis Sands, where she handled complex civil litigation cases and those involving employment discrimination. She returned to Augusta and practiced in the law firm of Fulcher, Hagler, Hanks and Harper, where she worked in litigation, concentrating on railroad defense, insurance defense, and employment and labor law. She has tried both civil and criminal cases, gaining most of her trial experience while working as a public defender in the Augusta Judicial Circuit.
Mrs. Jeffords re-entered private practice in 2008. She is a trial lawyer who protects and defends her clients in the areas of criminal law, family law, employment and labor law, and personal injury. She has successfully argued before the Supreme Court of Georgia and was named one of the Top Young Attorneys in Georgia by Georgia Super Lawyers Magazine in 2011. She was instrumental in developing the process for the Augusta Judicial Circuit Drug Court program and is the defense lawyer for Drug Court. She received the State Hero Award from the Judicial Council and Administrative Office of the Courts for outstanding service to the accountability courts of Georgia in 2013.
Attorney Jeffords is well known within the Georgia State Bar Association, where she currently serves as a Fellow, and has previously been a board member and a Young Lawyers Division representative. She has served locally as a board member of the Augusta Bar Association and is a member of the Augusta Chapter of the Links, Inc.

Attorney Tanya D. Jeffords was licensed to practice before the Supreme Court in 2013, and has been recognized as one of the Top 100 Trial Lawyers by the National Trial Lawyers Summit.
Mrs. Jeffords is a Christian, the wife of Bill Jeffords III and the mother of two children. She is the co-founder and CEO of Dream Builders of America’s Youth, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation dedicated to motivating our youth to Dream, Plan and Achieve.
